Historica Selecta Releases First-ever Videos Sharing the Authors’ Invitation-Only Presentation of the New Classic Car Auction Yearbook and International Market Analysis
29 January 2019Modena, Italy (29 January, 2019)– On the tail-end of the Arizona auctions and just before Retromobile and the auctions in Paris early February, Historica Selecta announces its new YouTube channel and the release of several new videos recapping highlights of the expert firm’s profound analysis of the classic car market. For the first time in 25 years of publication, Co-Authors Adolfo Orsi and Raffaele Gazzi have videotaped their annual, invitation-only book launch event with footage filmed inside the ACI/ ACI Storico stand at the Auto e Moto d’Epoca Fiera in Padua that took place in late October. The purpose of the new video release is to share with a wider online audience the market analysis and data of the 2017-2018 season as reported in the latest edition. The videos also describe how the Yearbook has evolved, explain what it aims to be today, as well as share the important annual gathering already recognized, albeit privately, since many years among enthusiasts, professionals and important personalities in this field.
In one video, Co-Author Adolfo Orsi narrates a wider, expert’s view on the past market season as well as simplifies and explains the many graphs, analysis and data published, which viewers will find as a helpful guide in understanding the book’s contents, especially as they navigate the season upon them. As seen, Orsi ends his presentation in saying, “Our goal is to help you to understand the market better and supply a tool for all the professionals. We hope that we achieved this goal again.”
An annual highlight of the private presentation that has also been captured in another video, leading auction house executives – Philip Kantor of Bonhams, Augustin Sabatié-Garat of RM Sotheby’s and Matthieu Lamoure of Artcurial Motorcars – provide their own valuable reflection of the past year’s sales, attitudes and trends to the private assembly.
Supported for a decade by its partner Credit Suisse, the Classic Car Auction Yearbook is a robust and quality-driven reference yearbook that encompasses the most significant international auction sales from the past season with unparalleled statistics driven by their database of more than 80,000 different cars. This “bible of the sector,” as some have called it over the years, is a unique collection and profound analysis of classic car market activity that, while remaining the same collectible, hardback yearbook for traditional libraries, continues to be improved and re-imagined every year with new statistics and understanding of market nuances, providing unbiased light and clarity where often there is none.
